Three Peas In A Pod!

Another day, another assignment. This one is a two minute opening scene to a movie. I'm still working with the same group. Why fix what's not broken?  I've spent the last six months working with Ashleigh and Eden and we've done nothing but thrive off one another. Sometimes it can be a little hard to get our schedules aligned but we are already making plans to share a calendar so that we can see our available days. We know how important this assignment is as it is our final task for the year so we know how hard we'll have to work. I got a new computer for Christmas with more space on it so we should have no problem storing content and have an easier time with the editing. We've already began brainstorming ideas as to what genre we want to film in. So far thrillers and horrors sound most fun. We have to be careful not to mix genres and so we are going to wait until we research the genres before finalizing our decision. We've spent the first half of this class learning tons of new skills such as identifying conventions, and different angles used in media such as films and pictures. Now it's time to utilize those skills and make an opening scene so amazing, you'll be yearning for the rest of the movie. Eden is an incredible artist so I know she'll make our storyboard amazing and make sure we choose the best shots out of everything we'll film. Ashleigh is really good at filming and organizing the music so I imagine she'll be in charge of finding a royalty free song for us to use or requesting permission from the songwriter of a more popular song. I'm the group editor but until we actually begin to film, I'll most likely be in charge of researching or writing the pitch and script. This assignment is a lot more work than the others we've done so far but its an AICE class so we didn't expect anything less. Still, we're super excited to see the turnout of the assignment. This is our final assignment and I want it to be nothing short of extraordinary. I know we can do it because we make the world's best team!

New Year, New Me!

Happy New Year! I'm back and still as fabulous as ever. Can you believe we've already made it through a whole month of the new year? Nothing's changed really. I'm still Britanique Simpson. My favorite color is still purple,  I'm still interested in pursuing a career in medicine and I'm still as excited as when I first started this class six months ago about literally everything media related. Last semester, I learned a lot about media. From learning about tracking shots to filming my own InkJoy pen commercial. Don't even get me started on the music video. It took forever to get the song out of my head. It was a fun year and I'm super excited to learn more. This semester is extremely important. I am now learning about things such as synergy and cross media promotion. I ordered pizza on Friday and got really excited about "The Batman" promotion that was on the cover of the box. I like connecting real life items to things I learned in class. It helps me to better remember the term and shows that I'm actually learning. My final project is to create a two minute opening scene to a movie. I've been looking forward to this all year! I can't wait to see how much my filming and editing skills have grown since I first started this class. I've already been brainstorming ideas and I'm thinking of thriller or horror as the genre. I've reached the half way mark and I want to go out with a bang!
