Hello again! It's Britanique Simpson, and I'm back for another fun-filled year of media studies. This year I'm taking AICE media studies A level. As stressful as last year was, I came back for more. Seeing as I had a summer birthday, I am now 17 years old which is one step closer to being a legal adult. Scary, but also exciting. Not much has changed about me since we last spoke. I was born in Jamaica, but I moved here, to Florida in 2015. My favorite color is purple. I have four siblings. Two brothers (one on my dad’s side, and one on my mom’s) and two sisters (both on my mom’s side). I also have a dog (Oreo) and a rabbit (Sugar). I dyed my hair copper colored two summers ago because I wanted a fun way to express myself and my hair has always been one of my favorite features. It's unfortunately now a dirty brown color but I'm planning to dye it a ginger red or blue color soon. In my free time, I like to read or pretend I know how to paint. If I’m not doing either of those then you can find me playing with my siblings. I chose this class because I enjoy watching movies and T.V. shows and I thought that it would be interesting to see how this media is created. I also heard that it was a fun class and who would pass up the opportunity to create their own media? I’ve always liked the idea of traveling and hope to travel to Paris and The Maldives one day. Last we spoke I said I wanted to be a nurse. I'm not so sure now that I've developed a really strong interest in real estate. I know it's not the most stable career, but something about marble countertops and infinity pools gets me excited. I still love the idea of living in a New York penthouse so I'd have to work hard to climb that high up. Get it? Growing up, I was always told that education is the key to success and so I put my best effort into everything that I do. My biggest inspiration is my mom because she’s the most hardworking person I know. I'm excited to see what new tasks the new school year brings. Especially since I'm a senior and this is my last one! Here's a picture from my trip to Jamaica this summer. Isn't it beautiful?
